      JOB DESCRIPTION

      Position: Aquatics Center Manager
      Report to: General Manager
      Supervises: Aquatics Center Staff, Gate Guards, Waitstaff, Lifeguards & Swim Team Coaches   

      JOB SUMMARY
      As the Aquatics Center Manager, you must be able to multi-task and demonstrate exemplary leadership qualities to effectively manage, supervise and provide feedback when necessary to all staff overseen. The Pool Manager oversees daily operations and ensures a vibrant experience for all Members and guest at the Richmond Country Club Aquatics Center. You must be a team player and show that we care about everything we do. Aquatics Center Manager oversees and manages personnel and activities. Supervises safe, clean, and appealing club swimming facilities.  Assists in hiring swim team coaching staff. Hires gate guards, service staff and ensures that lifeguard/management company adheres to contract and expected level of service.  

      DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
      • Has an appreciation for the RCC mission and culture.
      • Works to enhance the Member experience every day with a welcoming attitude.  
      • Greets Members, gets to know Members and is there for them to the best of your ability.  
      • Schedules gate guards and wait staff.   
      • Enthusiastically promote pool programming and events to Members.  
      • Able to answer all pool programming and event information when asked by a member. 
      • Ability to solve practical problems and troubleshoot solutions as situations arise.  
      • Acts as the lead for any emergency action plan and procedures established in the event of an emergency.  
      • Supervise all daily Aquatics Center operations, activities, programming, and events at the pool.  
      • Able to provide teaching moments as new staff are hired and whenever possible with all staff.  Able to evaluate the staffing ratio daily regarding the weather and member pool usage.
      • References and continually updates the RCC Pool standard operational procedure (SOP) manual in areas such as staff expectations, opening/closing checklists, and FAQs.  
      • Delegates daily responsibilities to staff such as cleaning up around the pool deck. 
      • Work with other departments at RCC to maintain a fun and well-rounded experience at the Aquatics Center including daily and detailed communication with the Food and Beverage Manager, Executive Chef and General Manager.  
      • End of the day documentation.  
      • Communicate with Head Lifeguards and Lifeguarding Staff.
      • Works with the Membership and Marketing & Communications Director on all Pool communications and registration for programming and events. 
      • Be open to questions, feedback and open communication from staff and Members.
      • Supervise swimming instructors, competitive teams, lifeguards, pool members, pool parties, and other activities.
      • Direct cleaning of the pool and upkeep of all pool equipment and facilities, pool chairs, diving boards, showers, locker rooms and pool office.  
      • Generally, oversee all pool operations and personnel and coordinate any pool activity during or after official Club hours. 
      • Maintain records and schedules.  
      • Register members at the pool and charge all guests the required guest fees.  
      • Provide necessary orientation and training for staff.  
      • Enforce club rules of safety and conduct.  
      • Be constructive in discipline, helpful in criticism, and enthusiastic in compliments. 
      • Maintain and keep all necessary records concerning pool attendance, accident reports, schedules, timecards, etc.  
      • Working knowledge of pool and maintenance details.   
      • Must be able to plan, promote, and follow through with programs, and be able to test pool attendants for competence.   
      • Good communication and people skills are required.   
      • Attend Aquatics Committee meetings.    

      QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTs  
      • Ability to communicate effectively with the Membership.  
      • Ability to work in all types of weather, various hours, and weekends.   
      • Ability to follow oral and written directions. 
      • American Red Cross First Aid certification, Professional Rescuer Cardiopulmonary (CPR) certificate, and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certificate upon employment. 
      • Work outdoors, being exposed to heat and sun for length of shift. 
      • Work 40+ hours/week during the season.  
      • Strong swimmer. 
      • Experience working with children and enforcing rules is preferred. 
      • Prior lifeguarding experience is preferred.

      Head Swim Team Coach   

      Job Summary
      The Richmond Country Club Riptides are looking for a Head Coach that will be responsible for developing and promoting a competitive and enjoyable summer swim program while ensuring a safe environment. 

      Exceptional swimming coaches prioritize performance over results and inspire swimmers to reach their full potential. 

      Duties/Responsibilities
      • Hire, train, and supervise assistant coaching staff as needed. 
      • Oversee swimmer registration, ensure appropriate forms are evaluated, provide to James River Aquatic League (JRAL) in a timely manner. 
      • Schedule self and staff to attend and run all designated practices and swim meets. 
      • Create weekly practice and meet plan and ensure that it is communicated to the assistant swim coaches and swim families. 
      • Promote sportsmanship and safety for the children on the team. 
      • Supervise and conduct necessary procedures for home swim meets, including setup and break down of equipment assistance, and meet data entry. 
      • Work together with the Membership & Communications Director to submit Swim Team information to be included in the Club’s weekly E-Blasts and website. 
      • Participate in extra-curricular spirit activities, including, but not limited to, social events and end of season banquet event. 
      • Attend JRAC meetings as needed. 
      • Provide and update JRAC information for appropriate staff and members. 
      • Maintain orderly storage and office. 
      • Keep accurate inventory of swim team equipment. 
      • Handle parent communication, questions, and concerns. 
      • Ensure overall housekeeping of designated areas during practice and swim meets.
      • Analyze Techniques: Assess swimmers’ abilities and skill levels before designing customized training programs. 
      • Individualized Programs: Develop and implement training programs focusing on improving stroke techniques, speed, and style. 
      • Teaching New Styles: Introduce swimmers to new swimming styles or strokes. 
      • Water Safety Education: Educate swimmers on water safety and conduct lifesaving training sessions.
      • Boost Confidence: Use various activities to enhance water confidence. 
      • Progress Monitoring: Record training sessions to analyze strokes, techniques, and track progress. 
      • Goal Setting: Set training goals for both teams and individual swimmers. 
      • Skill Refinement: Teach and perfect skills like flips, kicks, body rolls, floating, and breath control. 
      • Facility Maintenance: Ensure the pool or training area is clean, well-maintained, and hazard-free. 
      • Prepare for Meets: Scout swimmers and get teams and individuals ready for swim meets. 

      Qualifications
      • Must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older. 
      • Professional communication skills, a high level of organizational skills, and strong attention to detail. 
      • Excellent lifesaving skills. 
      • Ability to assess swimming levels and analyze techniques. 
      • Strong organizational and management abilities.
      • Effective communication and interpersonal skills. 
      • A positive outlook and willingness to work long hours. 

      Certifications
      • American Red Cross or equivalent Water Safety Instructor certification preferred. 
      • Coaches Safety Training Certification. 
      • Certification in American Red Cross or equivalent Lifeguard Training or higher. 
      • Certification in American Red Cross or equivalent CPR for the Professional Rescuer. 
      • Certification in American Red Cross or equivalent Infant/Child CPR. 
      • Certification in American Red Cross or equivalent AED Training.

  • Catering & Events
    • BANQUET SERVERS

      As a RCC Banquet Server team member you will have the opportunity to:
      Help with event set-up and/or breakdown, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
      Work both formal and casual events including, but not limited to, Weddings, Anniversary/Birthday Parties, and Membership functions.
      Provide excellent service for customers in some of their most important life events.
      Serve food and drinks through buffets, stations, a la carte or appetizers.
      If over 21, occasional bar shifts may be assigned with training.
      Set up and take down duties depending on event. 

      SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
      18 years old and over due in order to comply with current ABC state laws
      Prior banquet service experience is preferred, but not required.
      Ability to work weekend and evenings

      JOB SUMMARY 
      Responsible for all food and beverage aspects and services for Richmond Country Club. 

      Directly supervise all dining room employees, and other outlets such as the Fenwick Room, beverage cart and Riptide Café.

      Assist with planning and implementing budgets, hiring, train and supervise front of house staff, bartenders, catering staff and apply relevant marketing principles to assure that the wants and needs of Club members are consistently exceeded. 

      JOB TASKS/DUTIES
      • Consults with the Executive Chef and other applicable Club administrators daily to help assure the highest level of member satisfaction while staying on budget.
      • Monitors and take corrective action as necessary to help ensure that budget goals are attained. 
      • Assures that effective orientation and training for new staff and professional development activities for experienced staff are planned and implemented. 
      • Inspects to ensure that all safety, sanitation, preventive maintenance, and other standards are consistently met. 
      • Assures that all standard operating procedures for revenue and cost control are in place and consistently utilized. 
      • Help plan internal marketing and promotional activities for the food and beverage department. 
      • Manages the long-range staffing needs of the department.
      • Works with the Executive Chef on menus for all outlets and special events. 
      • Ensures that all legal requirements are consistently adhered to including wage and hour and federal, state and/or local laws pertaining to alcoholic beverages. 
      • Research new products and develop an analysis of the cost/profit benefits. 
      • Develops and implements policies and procedures for food and beverage department.
      • Monitors purchasing and receiving procedures for products and supplies to ensure proper quantity, quality, and price for all purchases. 
      • Greets guests and oversees actual service on a routine basis.
      • Helps develop wine lists and bottle/glass wine sales promotion programs. 
      • Creates, staff and manages Wine Club program, wine dinners, tastings, and small plate events.
      • Develops on-going professional development and training programs for food production, service, and bar production/service personnel.
      • Ensures correct handling procedures to minimize china and glassware breakage and food waste.
      • Addresses member and guest concerns and advises the General Manager about appropriate corrective actions taken. 
      • Develop interesting ways of promoting Club functions in the dining room, bars, and other outlets. 
      • Serve as a staff liaison on the House & Hospitality committee. 
      • Assist in planning and implementing procedures for special Club events. 
      • Maintains appearance, upkeep and cleanliness of all food and beverage equipment and facilities.
      • Monitors employee dress codes according to policies and procedures.
      • Approves all product invoices before submitting them to the accounting department. 
      • Manages physical inventory verification and provides updates information to the accounting department.
      • Responsible for the proper accounting and reconciliation of the point-of-sale systems and member revenues. 
      • Maintains records of special events, house counts, food covers and daily business volumes.
      • Complete china, glass, and silverware inventories.

      FOOD RUNNER 

      Deliver food orders to members quickly and accurately
      Uphold sanitation and food safety principles
      Bus tables by removing dirty dishes and trash
      Relay reports of member satisfaction to the management
      Ensure patrons have all the appropriate tableware they need to properly enjoy their food
      Assist setting up tables before service with appropriate utensils, napkins, and decorations
      Handle various impromptu requests from members

      SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
      16 years old or older. Prior experience is a plus, but we are willing to train
      Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
      Availability to work Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and/or Friday
